At the opening ceremony in the Duushús Cultural Centre Valgerður Guðmundsdóttir director of the Department of Culture of Reykjanesbær gave a speech and welcomed the Exhibition.The Mayor of Reykjanesbær Árni Sigfússon opened the exhibition. Other guests include the President of the Town Council Böðvar Jonsson, former Mayor Ellert Eiríksson, and the employees of the Department of Education of Reykjanesbær. Two classes of the 9th grade Myllubakkaskóli elementary school were also specially invited with their respective teachers. Following a brief opening ceremony the visitors viewed the exhibition.
